IChrysotoxum festivum > Tribe: Syrphini
Description: Not an abundant species in the UK, but widespread in southern England and Wales, extending up to north-west England. Very scarce in north-east England and Scotland, but there are records as far north as Inverness. Typical habitats are grassy places and heathland, usually near woods or scrub margins, but is also found in gardens.
