Description: Member of the Mallow family. Grows to 1.2 m tall. Stem trailing or erect. Leaves stalked, with 3-7 ovate, toothed lobes. Flowers in groups in the leaf axils. Epicalyx with 2-3 lobes. Petals 2-3 cm long, with dark veins. Fruits about 1 cm broad. The individual nutlets have irregular wrinkles along the back, and indistinct radial stripes at the sides.

Flowering Season: May to September.

Habitat: Found on footpaths, waste ground, roadsides and fields.

Distribution: Widespread and common throughout much of the UK.
