The National Trust

A small selection of what the National Trust has to offer in the UK

The National Trust is a charity and is completely independent of Government. They rely for income on membership fees, donations and legacies, and revenue raised from our commercial operations. They now have 3.5 million members and 43,000 volunteers. More than 12 million people visit their pay for entry properties, while an estimated 50 million visit their open air properties. They protect and open to the public over 300 historic houses and gardens and 49 industrial monuments and mills. But, and a very important but, if you are interested in wildlife like me, it does not stop there. They also look after forests, woods, fens, beaches, farmland, downs, moorland, islands, archaeological remains, castles, nature reserves, villages, thus providing thousands of acres of the UK where wildlife can flourish.
